UAE contributes to the Office of President of United Nations General Assembly

 

UAE has made a donation of 300,000 US Dollars to the Office of the President of the United Nations General Assembly. The cheque was presented by UAE’s UN ambassador Lana Nusseibeh, to the President of the General Assembly for the 72nd Session, Miroslav Lajcak. Lana Nusseibeh said that the UAE’s contribution to the Office of the President of the General Assembly is a representation of its commitment to the UN, and its dedication to driving multilateral solutions to global issues. The UAE traditionally makes a donation to the office of each incoming president of the general assembly, as a sign of the country’s support during the UNGA session. During the opening meeting of the 72nd session, Mr Lajcak, in his first address as UNGA president said he would focus on quality and transparency in his work, and highlighted the importance of the upcoming negotiations on the Global Compact on Safely, Orderly, and Regular Migration.
